Drawing of METU English Preparation Department Additional Building

We drawn METU English Preparation Department Additional Building for the final assignment of Arch 111 which is designed by Boran Ekinci in 2006. This drawing included one isometric projection and two orthographic drawings and also freehand sketches with keywords. The locations of these freehand sketches and keywords were decided by us. When I drew these, especially I gave attention to line weights and line quality in expressing the tectonic character of the building. Additionally, this drawing was a specially hard one but when I finished the drawing, I was happy. 🙂

Analysis of Annex Building for English Language Preparatory School of METU

Introduction

Annex building for English Language Preparatory School of METU (Middle East Technical University) is completed in 2007. The annex building is to provide classrooms and cafeteria for the students of METU English Language Preparatory School. The client for the building was METU Development Foundation. The chosen architecture firm was Boran Ekinci Architecture. The main design process was led by Boran Ekinci, the architect.

Boran Ekinci was graduated from METU Department of Architecture in 1987. In 1989 he founded Dalokay-Ekinci Architecture Company Limited with Hakan Dalokay in Istanbul, Republic of Turkey. Then he left Istanbul in 1991 and founded Boran Ekinci Architecture Bureau. In 1994 he transformed the Bureau to Boran Ekinci Architecture Company Limited, then he moved the company to Istanbul in 1996. Boran Ekinci is still continuing to work in Istanbul.
