Analysis of Uçhisar & Zelve

We went to Uçhisar and Zelve Valley  to analyze that how human experiences are in connection with architectural elements. While we were studying, we just focused on human experiences, visual and spatial relations and also we examined the basic architectural elements that are human experience directed such as enclosure, opening, transparency and their effects on space. After these studying, we produced a catalog.

CO-MO-RO

After the abstracting, our new step to make model is copy-move-rotate (co-mo-ro) to the planes. First of all,  of this work, we should decide a rectangular plane’s (initial plane) dimensions and total area of the initial plane should not exceed 20cm^2. In addition to that, there is no limit except dimensions of planes. So, I started with creating units of 5 elements (4×4) by using intersection relation and I created 5 units in the same way. After this step, I began to make my model with using intersection and surface to edge relation between my units. Also, I paid attention to apply all three operations; copy-move-rotate and I tried to use keywords of my model but after the discussion hour, I realized that I did not use variation and differentiation of units. I just focused copy-move-rotate operations. Furthermore, I realized that my model look very symmetrical. So, revising of my model was inevitable.

Here is the my model.

After this step, we continued with co-mo-ro but of this work, the number of rectangular elements was limited and we could use min.7 & max.15 planes to produce our models. I started with changing my initial plane’s dimensions (6×3) and I used 3 planes of my units. Also, compared to first model, this time, I used two different units which was changed with using variation and of my model, I wanted to use different relations. So, I used intersection, edge to edge, surface to edge, point to point and surface to surface relations but after the discussion hour, I realized that when I used to surface to surface relation, I created a new thickness and also, I created a new surface with using edge to edge relation of my model. Unfortunately, I missed some points again. In addition to these, I paid attention to use keywords such as hierarchy, continuity, variation, repetition, proportion. Moreover, while making my model, alignments between planes were very important for me.

I used 10 units of my model and here is the my model.

After our second model, we continued with co-mo-ro again but there is some differences from previous model.Of this step, one element of the unit was a variation of the initial plane and also, we used the diagram of our previous model and again, we were limited about number of units. We could use min.10 & max.15 units.

First of all, I started to change one element’s size as a thinner (6×1,5) and I tried to make a model based on my diagram but after the discussion hour, I realized that I misunderstood some points. I just showed same relations and there did not occur new relations. So, when I completed my model, it look like my previous model. Therefore, I revised it and this time, I changed one element’s size as a longer (9×3) of my unit. Furthermore, I used variation of all units and with using these units, I wanted to show different relations such as edge to edge, point to point and surface to edge relations depending upon my diagram. Of this model, there did not occur intersection relation. In addition to these, I tried to use keywords such as differentiation, variation, continuity, repetition etc.

I used 10 units of my model and here is the my model.
